At the Western Region Officer Training Camp (WROTC), state and chapter officers from many of the western region and even Michigan worked closely to build leadership skills and learn more about how other states and chapters function. This three day camp in Reno, Nevada included team building activities, information on successful fundraising, a trip to Lake Tahoe for some beach activities and friendships with many other state leaders. National DECA President, Uzo B. Ogu was also in attendance and provided valuable information on DECA Inc. programs.
Kudos to the Century DECA chapter officer team for their participation at WROTC. Your state officers recommend it for all chapter leaders and they hope to see more Oregon chapters in attendance next year.

Congratulations to ICDC Attendees
Oregon DECA would like to congratulate those of you who attended the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. We would also like to give a big thank you to the advisors and chaperones as well.
At ICDC we were able to network with people from all over the world, compete against the best of the best, learn leadership skills that will last a life time, and of course have fun sightseeing in Atlanta. We can’t wait for Anaheim next year!

And just because school is wrapping up for the summer doesn’t mean that DECA is over for the year. Chapter officers, it is your responsibility to plan chapter officer retreats and/or chapter activities throughout the summer. This is the perfect time to get things planned out for the next year and some of the best fundraising can be done during the summer months. Best of luck to you and your chapters. And remember, state officers are always available to assist you with any activities or meetings.
