Internship opportunities for instructors are beneficial not only to the instructor, but to our programs and the students we serve. Students develop skills and experience relevant for their future careers while earning a competitive wage and can explore possible career interests to help them determine which direction they'd like to pursue. Internship experiences also help to satisfy current graduation requirements.
Internship opportunities for students are meaningful in skill development. Educators have the opportunity to do interesting work that ties directly into their content area for competitive pay.
With their first-hand experience and fresh perspectives of current workforce demands, educators apply their newly acquired knowledge and experience to their programs. Educators come away from the experience with a renewed sense of commitment towards learning and instructing students.
Internship Opportunities Made Easy
Connecting instructors and students with interesting internship opportunities is made easy through the efforts of the Business Education Compact (BEC). This non-profit organization has been linking the classroom and the workplace for 22 years. They generate the opportunities from their business partnerships, offering those opportunities to instructor and student interns.
Please visit the BEC website (www.becpdx.org) for more information.
